[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Natural products from marine invertebrates play a pivotal role in the development of new therapeutics due to their rich chemical diversity. The primary function of this research programme is to spearhead the production of enhanced fractions and small molecules from the prepared powdered biota, which are then deposited in IMB’s natural and synthetic product repository. In addition, researchers are also involved in the isolation of compounds from the hit enhanced fractions and structural elucidation of the isolated compounds. Synthesis of derivatives based on the identified natural compounds also forms one of the research areas under this programme.
