OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH POLICY
UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA TERENGGANU
Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for staff, students, and members of the public who deal with UMT, in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and other applicable laws.
To implement this Policy, UMT will, as far as practicable, take the following actions:
Strengthen the occupational safety and health management system as a core element in university governance to ensure the well-being of UMT members and all parties dealing with UMT.
Provide resources and continuous training programs to enhance awareness, knowledge, and competence.
Establish, implement, and review all safe work procedures and the ongoing execution of maintenance programs.
Implement service continuity plans to address safety, health, and environmental risks in the workplace.
Foster a culture of safe, conducive, and healthy work practices among the UMT community, based on understanding, responsibility, and self-regulation.
