Workshop on Application of NMR in Various Field of Research

Date: 10 & 11th July 2018 (Tuesday & Wednesday)

Venue: Auditorium INOS & INOS Seminar Room

FEE:

RM100.00 (UMT Student)

RM 200 (UMT Staff)

RM 250 (Other Participant)

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is an important analytical technique with wide applications in chemical, biological, pharmaceutical and medical sciences. This technique are growing rapidly in many field of research over the last two decades including the metabolomics and medicinal research. It is critical to understand the structure and properties of the molecules in the NMR spectroscopy. The key to understanding the NMR is to understand its fundamental and practical concept of the NMR spectroscopy.

There is a growing need for skilled personnel trained in NMR, especially in spectral interpretation in academia and industry. Now, structural determination is easier with the availability of various software on the market. The current use is not only for the determination of the pure compound structure but also for the analysis of mixed samples.

This 2-days workshop may provide an opportunity for scientific and technical personnel from various backgrounds to gain knowledge and practical experience in NMR developing technique, NMR data processing, spectral analysis and interpretation.

This workshop is designed for everyone: no prior knowledge or experience about NMR spectroscopy is required to attend this workshop.

Topics:

1) Provide basic information about NMR spectroscopy and its wide applications in research

2) Latest NMR technology for mixture analysis and its tool

3) Basics of NMR Spectroscopy and experiments for metabolomics research

3) Hands-on training of structure elucidation using CMCse software

Seats are limited to 30 participants.

First come first serve basis

The main target participants are:

  • Early graduates
  • Post graduate students
  • Science officers
  • Researchers
